This year’s dinosaur toddler party was RAWR-some. My now 3-year-old nephew is a dinosaur enthusiast! So, it’s no surprise that we had to host a dinosaur themed party. Over the weekend we celebrated my nephew’s 3rd birthday party. He’s currently obsessed with all things dinosaurs and I’m so happy to share with you all the details that went into his RAWR-some party!
First thing is first, decide where you want to throw your dinosaur party. My nephew’s party was in mid-June, and we live in good old Texas where it’s so hot almost all year round. Because of this, my sister opted for a pool party, and it was a total success! The kids loved every minute of it!
Okay, so let’s start with snacks! For this dinosaur toddler party, I loved the idea of having a snack cart. It served snacks of her choice and saved her time. No more adding snacks or appetizers at every table. This was a total hit!
Dinosaur Festivities
For entertainment my sister hired a live dinosaur show that was worth every penny! If you can find something like this in your area, I promise you, the kids and adults will love it! It will take your dinosaur toddler party to the next level. The show ran for about an hour and a half and the kiddos had so much fun playing and dancing with lifelike dinosaurs.
There was also live music, dancing, limbo, hot potato (with a dinosaur) and dinosaur dig games with prizes included.
You’ll want to keep your little guests entertained at your dinosaur toddler party no matter the age group. Having a dinosaur themed tablecloth set up for them to color is a good way to do so. You can also set up individual sensory bins using easy DIY moon-sand or natural sand. You can place dinosaur eggs and dinosaur fossil skeletons for the kiddos to dig up with their excavation tools. If you would rather purchase a complete dinosaur sensory bin this is a great option as well!
Dino-themed Dessert Table
Creating this dinosaur-themed dessert table took a bit of planning. We wanted to add a creative element to it, all while making it memorable for the kids. I really think we delivered! Below are some ideas for your next dinosaur party. We used white chocolate covered pretzels as dinosaur bones. Whoppers malted milk balls as dinosaur poop. Bugles chips as raptor teeth or dinosaur toenails and rock shaped chocolate as “ancient rocks”. We also cut watermelon using cookie cutter dino prints and bought some doughnuts to use as mini volcanoes. These are only a few ideas, there are so many other ways you can get creative to make your dessert table for your dinosaur toddler party really stand out to your liking!
